Dear Students and Parents,
The safety of our students and staff continues to be of utmost importance to the Morris Hills Regional School District. Toward that end, we will once again implement transportation security measures for the 2025 - 2026 school year. Devices have been installed on all of our buses that will store bus routes, provide audible directions, and store names and pictures of students assigned to each route.
Students will display their student IDs when boarding all MHRD buses. As the bus arrives at an approved MHRD bus stop, installed tablet devices will display students boarding or disembarking. Student ID cards will be scanned to confirm their arrival or departure. This will help to account for all students and ensure that only assigned riders are present. Student IDs will also be used when purchasing food from the cafeteria and borrowing books from the library.
Students will utilize their same issued student ID card for all four years of high school. Toward that end, beginning on August 26th, returning 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students will be required to display their student IDs when boarding all buses. Students in grade 9 will be issued a temporary student ID at Freshman Orientation. Their permanent student ID cards will be issued during the first weeks of the new school year. Furthermore, students in grade 9 will receive lanyards and card holders for their student IDs. All students will be required to have their student IDs on them at all times.
Replacement ID requests will now be processed through MySchoolBucks. This is the only way to obtain a replacement ID badge. All parents/students are to submit their requests under the "Other Student Fees" button located on MySchoolBucks. Once a request has been successfully submitted, the Transportation Department will create the new ID badge and forward the ID badge to the Principal’s Office.
Students and parents will receive an email alerting them that the new ID badge is done and ready for pick-up in the Principal’s Office.
Furthermore, the Morris Hills Regional District Transportation Department is once again utilizing the District Transportation Center for the 2025 - 2026 school year. The DTC is a web-based help desk for all your transportation inquiries. This system has been implemented in order to streamline your requests, improve response times, and organize the department’s workflow. To contact the DTC, please click dtc.mhrd.org and select “New Support Ticket.”
Thank you for your continued support of our procedures, and please feel free to reach out with any questions about any of the measures we are putting into place.
