Dr. Krystal Beck graduated from Wilkes University in 2004 with a degree in History and Secondary Education and a minor in Dance. She earned her Master's in Educational Leadership from East Stroudsburg University, followed by a Specialist in Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of West Florida in 2021, and completed her Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of West Florida in 2025.
Prior to joining the administrative team at Morris Hills Regional District in 2014, Dr. Beck taught in the Morris Knolls Social Studies Department and served as choreographer for school musicals. She is thrilled to supervise the Academy for the Performing Arts and work collaboratively with Morris County School of Technology, the APA faculty, and passionate students of dance, vocal, and theatre.
Mr. Ryan Shaffer graduated from Lafayette College in 2003 with a degree in Government & Law and a minor in History. He taught U.S. History in the Parsippany School District from 2003 - 2011. He joined the Morris Knolls staff as a school counselor in 2011 after earning his Masters degree in school counseling from William Paterson University in 2010.
For the last nine school years, Mr. Shaffer has enjoyed every minute of his time at Morris Knolls, where he was a counselor for Morris Knoll's special education population from 2011-2017 before becoming the counselor for the Academy of the Performing Arts in 2018. Mr. Shaffer considers himself lucky to work with the dedicated staff at Morris Knolls (and particularly the "APA Team") and the very talented students in the Academy of Performing Arts!
