Math

I'm so excited to have the opportunity to work together to create an amazing year in your child's education. I have an enormous passion for my field and for our world full of applicable mathematics. Our year will be filled with engaging activities, personalized learning, small group work, and inspiring collaboration. We hold high expectations as a team and we always accept mistakes and failures as learning experiences to grow from each day. This is math, after all, and every day there is new content and strategies to learn and explore.

In our room, we know when to ask for help and we value what every student brings to the table.

For students to be prepared when they come to math they will need a few things each and every day:

-Laptop (I understand there can be extenuating circumstances but please make an effort to have this charged for class each day.)

-A sharpened pencil (For daily use and note-taking, any pen or pencil will do.)

-A Math Notebook for taking notes and completing required daily warm-up assignments.

-Ready to contribute their best efforts, teamwork and support for peers with a positive attitude

I am happy to unveil something new for our 6th grade students to utilize this year. I began creating a website this past February. It is still a work in progress and we will continue building it together throughout the year. Students will use this daily as a Digital Notebook (DeN) to house daily warm-ups, anchor charts, educational videos and interactives. They can access this from home to complete unit requirements, if they've forgotten their notebook to study or simply need to review instruction they may have missed. Our Digital Notebook holds content and support for all of the standards we will be covering this year as well as prerequisite skills from 4th and 5th grade to review and prepare for this challenging year of new concepts in 6th grade. Please feel free to explore!
