While our current playground is nice, it does not hold have enough equipment to support the number of students playing at any given time. We often find kids standing around and waiting for swings or equipment to play on as it just isn't large enough to manage the capacity of students we have during recess and play times.
The current playground will remain! We are needing to increase our playground size and capability to allow more students the opportunity to play at the same time. With over 600 students currently enrolled at MFGS and growing, we simply need more play space created!
The new playground current plans will add 12 new swings, a rock-climbing wall, a starship orbiter, a constellation climbing station, a long challenge course and a large capacity play equipment catered for the older students.
The students of course! School administration worked with various students within the upper classrooms to view all different types of playground equipment options and determine what equipment they would like to see and be challenged with!
The new playground is estimated to cost $625,000. The MFCC & Maroa-Forsyth School District have partnered together to help make this Playground happen now! MFCC has committed to raising $150,000 in funds to support the large investment of the playground!
Simply go to the "How Can I Help Page" above and submit the form to pledge today! Checks made out to MFCC can be sent to the Maroa-Forsyth Grade School, Attention: PROJECT PLAY, 641 East Shafer Street, Forsyth, IL 62535. List Project Play in the memo line!

That's the beauty of Project Play! Due to the support of the M-F School District, we are moving forward with the building of the playground at the same time we work to raise the funds. While it may take some time to raise the $150,000 funds, the project will move forward! Building plans are being finalized now, with expectations for the construction to start later this summer - Summer 2024! Estimated completion will be Fall/ Late 2024! Bringing the FUN sooner rather than later!! That won't change our goal though, so please consider supporting Project Play today and help us achieve the required $150,000!
