Why Forensics, Sherlock, & More? :
Okay, so I've always been fascinated by mystery novels and crime shows, and it is definitely completely normal for me to spend hours reading about forensic science on the weekends and over the summer. And I wanted to combine these passions into a unique product because I always wondered if the science portrayed in literature and film was actually factual or just completely romanticized to augment the suspense of the plot. Sherlock Holmes is a very prominent figure in the mystery story realm, so the idea to connect modern forensic science with the greatest detective of all time was a natural reaction when thinking of a capstone project idea.
The first noticeable obstacle that I faced was my inexperience and nervousness when recording. The first episode was an awful failure because I could not stop double guessing myself (when to speak, what to say, how to transition). With each episode, I grew more confident and stopped doubting everything I said. The first episode is now one of the best because we re-recorded it last. The second major challenge was learning how to publish the podcast, since I had no prior experience. For some reason, I had trouble understanding RSS feeds, which is basically a link that enables Spotify, Google Podcast, iTunes, etc. to show a podcast and allows any changes made to the main hosting site to be transferred to these other websites automatically. This means that podcasters do not have to manually change each and every site their podcast is hosted on.
Forensics, Sherlock, & More is available to everyone in the world through Spotify, Google Podcast, and Anchor. There are listeners from more than 12 different countries! The podcast is a resource that offers education and entertainment for the entire world to enjoy, especially during the quarantines that occur during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Don’t force an idea if you’re having trouble coming up with a concrete project. The idea may present itself gradually and turn out completely different from the original concept.
This is totally okay!
