This course will focus on preparing students for Calculus, by digging deeper into topics touched upon in Algebra 2, as well as introducing several new abstract concepts. These topics include, but are not limited to: graphs of functions, polynomial and rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, trigonometry, sequences, series, probability, parametric & polar graphs, limits, and basic derivative rules.
A TI-84 Plus graphing calculator is recommended, but not required, for this course. Here are some links to some good deals I've found online:

Grades will be calculated according to the following weights:
Homework - 10%
Assessments/Projects/Group Work/Everything Else - 90%

All students will be prepared and thus recommended for some level of Calculus next year, depending on their performance within the first 2 marking periods. Recommendations will be made roughly based on the following criteria:
Recommendation
Grade of A+/high A AP Calculus AB/BC
Grade of A-/low A AP Calculus AB
Grade below A- Honors Calculus
