About Mr. Permar

I am a proud alumnus of the Hatboro Horsham School District, graduating in 1999. Upon completion of high school, I continued my education at Kutztown University where I majored in elementary education with a minor in early childhood education. While at Kutztown I student taught in a Kindergarten classroom in the Allentown School District, as well as in a fourth grade classroom in the Parkland School District. I graduated from Kutztown in the spring of 2003 and in June I was hired by the Penn Foundation as a social worker. While at Penn Foundation I worked closely with special needs children and their families, both at their homes and within the Penn Ridge School District. In 2004 I was hired by the Methacton School District as an instructional assistant at Arcola Intermediate School and as an assistant boys track and field coach at Methacton High School. In the spring of 2005 I was offered a full time fifth grade teaching position at Arrowhead Elementary School where I taught from 2005 - 2010. I earned my masters degree from Gratz College in the spring of 2009. The next journey in my educational career began in the fall of 2010 when I began to teach at Methacton’s brand new Skyview Upper Elementary School. At Skyview I coordinate the After School Sports program for fifth grade students. I am also the coordinator for the Methacton School District's Outdoor Education program.

Personal

I grew up in Hatboro Pennsylvania with my older brother, sister, and many pets. My family and I live in Franconia Township in an old farm house. My wife and I have 2 sons and a daughter. I love to work on projects around the house, especially our flower and vegetable gardens. One of my favorite things to do is travel, although I do not get to do it nearly as often as I would like! I love to participate in any activities in the great outdoors. Hiking, biking, kayaking, and camping are some of my favorites! In my spare time I love to run! I ran track and field for both Hatboro Horsham and Kutztown. I am also a Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Phillies. When the opportunity arises I love to work on cars or anything with an engine! One of my passions is family genealogy and US history.
