Team Expectations
Astronomers students are expected to follow the characteristics as described by the Character Counts pillars found in the student handbook. These pillars are Trustworthy, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.
Homework Policy
Astronomers Team teachers assign homework on a daily basis. Homework is an important part of the educational experience and will be reflected in the student’s grade. Failure to complete assigned homework will have a negative impact on a student’s class grade. Team homework is posted daily in various locations (on the team homework calendar, and within each Google Classroom).
Dress Reminders
The official Methacton School District Dress Code is available for viewing on the Methacton School District Website – School Board Policy 221. Here are some major considerations to make when dressing in the morning.
Layers: Skyview is air-conditioned in the fall and spring and heated in the winter. However, teachers do not have individual control of thermostats. Classrooms may be colder or warmer than is comfortable for some students so we suggest that students have a sweat-jacket or dress in layers to accommodate temperature changes.
Pictures/Sayings: Please be aware of words and images printed on clothing. Any words or images must be respectful. Be considerate of how others may interpret what is being expressed on your clothes.
Our philosophy is that school is a student workplace. Appropriate dress will reinforce the serious nature of our work.
Students dressed inappropriately will be sent to the office and a parent/guardian may be called to bring a more appropriate clothing option.
