Acceleration Policy

• Acceleration encouraged under Board Policy 124.1

• Procedures must be completed in advance for credit

• Acceleration from 8th to 9th grade is not permitted

Not eligible for Acceleration:

• Algebra 1

• English 10 (Keystone Exam requirement)

Honors Biology Acceleration:

• >95% in Environmental 9 Honors required

• Must take Biology Keystone Exam in summer

• If not proficient - student must drop Chemistry and take Biology

Acceleration Request Forms:

• Available in MHS Counseling Office

• Deadline: May 15, 2026
