Arcola String Ensemble is an advanced, auditioned group for students who are ready for more challenging music. Auditions take place several times throughout the year. Students may audition at the end of 6th grade (late May/early June), September of 7th or 8th grade year, and January of 7th or 8th grade year.
Arcola String Ensemble is an advanced, auditioned group for students who are ready for more challenging music. Auditions take place several times throughout the year. Students may audition at the end of 6th grade (late May/early June), September of 7th or 8th grade year, and January of 7th or 8th grade year.
This group performs at the winter and spring concerts and the Jamboree and fulfills leadership roles in all three performances. String Ensemble also performs at the Senior Citizens Thanksgiving Luncheon, the community performance at King of Prussia Mall, the Christmas Planetarium show, the Shannondell Retirement Community, the National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony, and the Music in the Parks Adjudication Festival at Hershey. Students from String Ensemble are selected to represent Arcola at Schuylkill Valley Orchestra Festival and Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 11 String Fest.
