Lessons take place once a week on an assigned day and take place on a rotating basis to avoid students missing the same class regularly. Specific schedules are distributed to enrolled students. (See the schedules page)

During lessons, we work on specific skills needed to play individual, independent orchestra parts. Scales, arpeggios, shifting, bow strokes, and note reading are just some of the skills that may be covered. Daily assignments and announcements are posted on the orchestra's Google Classroom page. Students currently enrolled will have access to this site.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals
Rehearsals take place on A, C and E days. E day is the priority day for orchestra and attendance is mandatory. The only exception is for student involved in sports. Students may request to be excused from A and C day rehearsals if they need to make up work or a test/quiz.

During orchestra rehearsals we work on putting all the independent parts together to create the whole orchestral sound. Intonation, rhythm, phrasing, dynamics and articulation are just some of the musicianship elements that may be covered.

Attendance
Attendance
Attendance at lessons and rehearsals is required in order for the learning process to fully take place. E day orchestra rehearsals are mandatory (see above). Attendance at dress rehearsals and concerts is also mandatory. Schedules are distributed to enrolled students.
