You can use Augmented Reality (AR) to place 3D digital objects right in your own classroom directly from a search with your phone or iPad, from NASA’s Curiosity Rover to human body systems to animals, like penguins and sharks, with a better sense of scale. Google puts its 3D animals and other AR objects right at the top of the search. With a 3D animal search through Google, you’ll see an overview of what the animal is, a few images or it, and a section that says “Meet a life-sized giraffe up close” and a “View in 3D” button. Click here to launch the AR experience.
Search using Chrome and select VIEW IN 3D. Place the object on the floor by moving your phone/iPad to the space you would like the object to stand in the room. The object will pop up for you to view. Move around to see all sides! You can resize the animal from its life-size by pinching on it. It will go down in size, slowly, to better fit into your room.
