Mia De La Rosa
Motivation of the Project & OG Founder of S.A.F.T.
I am 17 years old, and I love music and reading books. I am a senior at North Mesquite High School. I am also in Choir and Unity. I wanted to help create something, that was student made and shows that younger people can also stand up, and speak up about what matters, even though it's uncomfortable to talk about. Angela Silva and I sparked the idea of a course about sexual assault, and my amazing friends in my English class decided to make this whole Howard Hour project about sexual assault and awareness for it. That is how S.A.F.T. came to be. We never dreamed it would come this far, but we could not be more proud. :)
My name is Abram (Abe) OG Founder of S.A.F.T.
Im a senior at North Mesquite High school and I am involved in S.A.F.T. because I want teens to learn more about the dangers of sexual assault. Coming from a low end childhood, I want teens to be able to open up about harassment and not be embarrassed.
Karla Briones
OG Founder of S.A.F.T.
My name is Karla Briones, and I'm involved with S.A.F.T. because I want teenagers to become aware of the dangers of sexual assault and for this website to be a safe place for teenagers to be able to open up with confidence about their experience with their encounters.
Hello my name is Juan A. Ordaz.
OG Founder of S.A.F.T.
I am 18 years old and I am a proud founder of S.A.F.T. I love hanging out with friends and family and playing soccer in my free time. I am Historian for the Spanish National Honor Society and also In the Big Blue Band. I wanted to start a program that taught children and teenagers about the aware of sexual assault and the danger of it. There is no better program than S.A.F.T for children and teens to feel comfortable and safe to express them self and learn.
Angela Silvia
Art Coordinator & OG Founder of S.A.F.T.
Angela Silva is the name and awareness is the game! I am an artist and musician who is actively involved in many organizations and club activities at North. I am one of the founders of S.A.F.T. in hopes that this awareness campaign provides opportunities for communities to have a common theme for structuring their conversations about this sexual violence.
Hi my name is Bryan Serratos!
Proud OG Founder of S.A.F.T.
I am currently attending North Mesquite High School, and some of the things I am involved in at school are Cross Country, Marching and Concert Band, PAL's, and I will also be in Student Council at the start of next school year. Me and my friends here in S.A.F.T. decided to create this, to help kids learn about sexual assault, and that it is something that should be taken seriously.
Charley Radde
Website Manager & OG Founder of S.A.F.T.
I'm a senior at North Mesquite High School. I enjoy acting and cooking. After a class Socratic seminar, I felt strongly that people should have easy access to the truth and statistics of sexual assault. I'm the website manager, so I'm in charge of updating the website's questions, along with other things. I'm super proud of this project and how far it's come, and I'm still fighting to this day!
