What is Social Emotional Learning?

Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. -CASEL

Mesquite ISD believes that supporting student growth and understanding of Social Emotional Learning and their emotional regulation helps improve student well-being and academic achievement. Students in Fresh U are exposed to Social-Emotional Learning topics daily.
