Implementation Cycle
The CAC looked at feedback from students, teachers, and committee members and evaluated the feedback from the 2022 Counseling Survey, Campus Surveys, and Panorama data. The survey evaluated what teachers felt were the biggest concerns for our student population and where teachers needed the most support, processes, and outreach of the counselor. After disaggregating the data from the surveys, the committee ascertained that the two greatest concerns were Emotional Regulation, Teacher and Student Relationships, and a Sense of Beloning. We looked at the needs and researched extensions to our PBIS and SEL programs that would deliver pertinent information regarding those needs. We implemented Mindful Monday's w/Mrs. Soto, Calm Down Spots in our Hallways, and continued implementing our weekly Leopard Time lessons to give students a chance to practice self-regulation skills while in a calm environment. The SEL curriculum was created to educate staff and students further on relationship building, collaboration, effective communication, and unity. Our SEL program created a pertinent link to the value of our Leopard Time, Hallway Calm Down Spots, Sensory Pathways, and Mindful Mondays and how they helped our students grow in the their self-regulation coping skills. Another focus of the SEL program was that Green Spaces in each teacher's classroom, along with our specials teachers classrooms, which would continue to be a main focus for the campus, as these spaces allowed students a non-punitive manner in which to be mindful and gain a better understanding of their emotions. Along with Green Spaces, access to our Hallway Calm Down Spots because we did not have access to a campus SEL Room. We implemented a lower grade and upper grade Hallway Calm Down spots. Students were able to visit the Calm Down Spots for 3-5 minutes to spend time being mindful, resetting, and getting back t o green. The goal was to briefly reset in a healthy manner and return to class quickly.
Hallway Sensory Pathway Students often use the pathways as a quicky way to to despurse of extra energy and rest.

Green Space Training Video for Staff
I created a personalized training video for our staff. I went over each item that we currently have in our Green Space Buckets and modeled how to use each one. It was important for me to personalize a video that was unique to our campus needs.

This is an example of a forth grade teacher's green space in her classroom. She loves all things NASA and personalized it to fit her classroom theme.
Based on information obtained from the staff Panorama, the LET Committee (Leadership Empowerment Team) wanted to boost staff morale with "Painting with no Twist" during each teacher's conference time. The sessions were led by our amazing Art teacher.
Green Space-Kindergarten
This is an example of how a kindergarten teacher customized her Green Space based on the needs of her students. Students would use the green pop-up tent when they needed a quick reset or mindful break in the classroom.
Green Space Distribution
Staff collecting their Green Space items for their classrooms. Each teacher received a bin, several sensory items, and a checklist to help them keep track of all the items provided.
SEL Committee created positive affirmation vinyl decals to promote and encourage self-worth, confidence, and self-love. Our goal was to help the students feel a sense of worth and belonging. We wanted them to feel empowered and to take ownership and pride in caring for our school restrooms.
For National Counselor's Week, Mrs. Soto provided the teachers with several goodies throughout the week. On Friday, Mrs. Soto thanked the teachers by providing C.H.I.P.S and S.O.D.A.S in the lounge.
