FREE OUTDOOR MOVIE

In celebration of Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the Red Mountain campus is hosting a free outdoor movie night, featuring the 2020 Disney film, Mulan.
In partnership with the HiWay Baptist Church, we'll be showing the film as well as serving free hot dogs and popcorn. There will also be fun activities such as making origami and paper fans.
Load up the family, bring your favorite movie snacks, wear your comfy movie-night clothes and join us for a great night!
This event is free and open to the public. We will have chairs available, but feel free to bring your own for your personal comfort. We hope to see you there!
We Care Wednesday

The next We Care Wednesday fresh food distribution is taking place at the RED MOUNTAIN campus on Wednesday, April 17. It will take place from 10 am-12 pm in the Desert Willow loop and is free and open to the public! *Food available while supplies last.
This is a drive-through distribution, but walk-up service is also available.
The next We Care Wednesday at Southern and Dobson will be on May 1 from 10 am-12 pm. This will be the last food distribution of the semester. WCW will resume in September at both campuses.

April is National Financial Literacy Month! The Financial Literacy Team is hosting a Treasure Hunt for students to learn about opportunities, services, and resources at MCC and their financial benefits, at both the Southern/Dobson and Red Mountain campuses.
Students can earn a prize by stopping at the Financial Literacy table, receiving a clue leading them to a place of services/resources, take a selfie with a dollar sign in that location, and answering the question "How could the services/resources be financially beneficial to you or other students?" Prizes for participating!
Financial Literacy Month Celebration

April is National Financial Literacy Month! To celebrate, MCC's Financial Literacy Team is holding a Financial Literacy Celebration at the Southern/Dobson Clocktower on April 11, from 11am to 3pm. At the event, students will use their "Financial Framework" paper to move through stations and have the opportunity to learn about different personal finance skills, such as budgeting, savings, investing, credit, and more, play games, and obtain personal finance resources. Participants will earn prizes and offered a lunch too!
Earth Week Campus Clean Up
April 22-23 | 9:00-11:00 am at SoDo and RM
Celebrate Earth Day by helping to beautify our campuses. We will be cleaning up trash in the parking lots and the trails around both of our MCC campuses. Please sign up here to volunteer. The Thunderbird is a legendary creature in certain North American indigenous peoples' history and culture.
Thursday, "Thor's day" is named after the hammer-wielding Norse god of thunder, strength, & protection...THOR.
Therefore, Thursdays at MCC are now know as THORSDAY!

We Care Wednesday
We Care Wednesday is a food distribution that takes place on the first Wednesday of every month at the Southern/Dobson campus and the third Wednesday of every month at the Red Mountain campus. The distribution happens from 10 am-12 pm* or until supplies run out. The food distributions are open to all students and community members in need of food assistance:
Southern Dobson: Located in the Navajo Room This is not a drive-through distribution. Please consider bringing your own bags for your food.
Red Mountain: Located in the Red Mountain Way Circle. Please enter from McKellips Rd and proceed straight through the stop sign. Distribution takes place in the circle near the Desert Willow building.

Congratulations on completing more than half the spring semester! It is now time to look ahead. Registration is open for the summer and fall sessions. Enroll now to help ensure you get into the classes you need to meet your goals.
There are important dates and observances listed on the academic calendar you should be aware of as the semester wraps up. The application for May graduation has passed (March 1). However, if you are eligible to graduate and you submitted your application before the deadline, congratulations! We hope you will join us at the Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 11, 2024. The deadline to RSVP to participate in the ceremony is April 14, 2024.
The deadline to apply for summer graduation is June 1. All steps to graduation are available to review here.

Did you submit an assignment on time, or perhaps a little early?
Did you connect with a tutor or reach out to your instructor for assistance?
Did you meet the requirements for spring graduation? The application for May graduation has passed (March 1). However, if you are eligible to graduate and you submitted your application before the deadline, congratulations! We hope you will join us at the Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 11, 2024. The rest and relaxation from Spring Break may be wearing off. You’ve got this! Stay focused on your goal; the end of the semester is close.
Study for exams now! Don’t wait until the day before or the day of the exam to review.
The MCC Libraries offer resources, research help, and quiet study spaces to help you complete your papers and final projects. Research assistance is available in person and online 24/7 via Ask a Librarian chat. Library study rooms can be reserved for up to 3 hours a day. Academic Assistance/Tutoring: take advantage of free drop-in and virtual tutoring to help if you get stuck on a problem or need help understanding a new concept.
Test your knowledge with friends or in a study group. Being confident in knowing the content will help alleviate any test anxiety you may be feeling.
If you are eligible to graduate in Spring 2024, congratulations! If plan to participate in the commencement ceremony on May 11, 2024, be sure to review the Steps to Graduation webpage for details on ordering regalia and other steps about the ceremony. MCC Fitness Center Memberships
Start the new semester STRONG! Did you know you can sign up for a membership to the MCC Fitness Centers? They provide membership access to students, employees, and the community, and a membership gives you access to both the Southern and Dobson and the Red Mountain campus fitness centers. Membership includes cardio and strength training equipment, fitness tools/accessories, access to drop in group fitness classes, personal training consultation and 1 complementary session, knowledgeable staff, day use lockers, clean facilities, and no crowds!
Students = $50 per semester or $25 for half semester
Employees = $25 per semester
Also available: Community Ed memberships, PED 101/PED 115 classes for credit and a variety of fitness classes. Visit the Fitness Center website for a schedule and more information.
