Homework

Overview

  • Homework is based on a skill learned in class.

  • Child should be able to complete with minimal assistance.

  • You may assist your child, but if they are struggling, please send in a note or email so I can review the next day!

  • Please only complete the work for each particular day and do not let your child go ahead.

  • Completed assignments should be returned each day in the Take-Home Folder.

  • Homework should take no more than 10 minutes per night, excluding 10 minutes of nightly reading.

Homework

  • The Reading Log is sent home at the beginning of each week, and is always due on Friday.

  • Look on our Google Classroom and I outlines the homework for each week.

  • Please read ALL reminders that I post in our Google Classroom to ensure that you know any upcoming events/assignments.

  • Challenge sheets are an optional challenge for students who would like to try! Challenge Work is always due on Friday.

Reading Homework

  • Students are required to read at least 10 MINUTES each night.

  • Reading Books will be sent home to practice reading the book that we read in class.

  • Record reading in the reading log provided.

  • Have students try to fill in information on the reading log as the year progresses.

  • Turn in reading log every Friday.

Sight Word/Project Read Homework

  • Homework will be the same format weekly with different Sight Words or Project Read Skills to practice.

Math Homework

  • Will be on the lesson completed in class that day.

  • Math Workbooks will go home each day so that your child can complete the math homework. Please make sure to put the workbook right back into backpacks because we will need it for our classwork each day.

  • There is a Must Do and a Can Do math assignment in the workbook each night for homework.
