Lesson Information

Students are expected to attend their weekly lessons and Orchestra rehearsals.

If a student cannot attend his/her scheduled lesson, he/she must contact Mrs. Blick ahead of time to reschedule the lesson for another time.

If a student misses a music lesson, it is expected that the assignment is made up in time for the following week's lesson. Missed classwork is also expected to be made up when a student leaves class to attend a music lesson.

Lessons are scheduled on a rotating basis so students will not miss the same class every week. Lessons occur on the same day every week; however, the time will change.

Schedules are shared on the Google Drive with classroom teachers and staff as well as with students currently enrolled in the instrumental music program. Schedules will also be posted in the Google Classroom.

Students are expected and required to practice on their own at home, which should be logged into a weekly practice record. These practice records must be signed by a parent/guardian regularly and are part of the student's homework grade.

Recommended practice time amounts can be found below:

• • • BEGINNERS: 15 minutes per day for 4 or more days a week.

    • PINE BROOK STUDENTS: 20-30 minutes per day for 4 or more days a week.

    • MEMS STUDENTS: 90 minutes per week
