Members of our communities overwhelmingly voted to invest in our schools, and we are grateful for their continued support as we make strides toward completion of these critical projects.

Safety & Security and Accessibility are top priorities for everyone in our buildings.
Fire alarm and public address system replacements ensure that we are prepared with the most updated equipment in case of an emergency.
New interior doors and hardware help ensure that our schools are in alignment with the highest safety standards.
Accessibility for all is essential. Upgrades to our restrooms ensure that everyone who enters our schools can fully access these areas.
Emergency generators at each school gives the district a backup plan in the event of an outage and lessen the likelihood of an outage-related disruption to our educational schedule.
Efficiency – when it comes to energy usage and costs – is a priority we are addressing through the referendum projects.

Upgraded HVAC reduces the number of costly breakdowns that disrupt our school day and are more efficient than older units.
Roofing replacements reduce the risk of leaks that could cause damage to our schools and also improve energy efficiency.
Warranties on these items gives an added layer of peace of mind.
Building an addition at MEMS keeps our administrators where they should be – on campus instead of across town. It also saves resources by eliminating the need to maintain a separate building that is aging and in need of improvements.
State aid toward eligible project costs was a top reason MERS pursued a referendum. With voter approval, we unlocked $36.7 million toward these projects that we would not have received if we completed them through the annual budget. That’s a huge benefit to the taxpayers and a continuation of the district’s commitment to fiscal responsibility.

Interior renovations like electrical upgrades and classroom storage came with a 34% discount instead of paying full price.
Exterior work on our parking lots, sidewalks, and windows received the maximum amount of state aid to complete.
