Thank you for all of your work to ensure scholars continue to learn and grow! Each week, scholars will receive online remote instruction in ELA, Math, History and Science with recorded videos and 1-2 student work assignments. They will also receive interactive instruction, and one assignment per week in PE/Health, Music, and College and Career Readiness for a total of roughly 5 hours per day. All assignments should be submitted through Google Classroom.
Teachers and office staff will reach out to each scholar's family to conduct weekly welfare checks, and to offer assistance with completing assignments as needed. In addition, each teacher will hold daily 'office hours' when they will be available to actively answer questions and offer assistance for a designated 4 hour period. The times that each teacher is available for their 'office hours' can be found on their individual pages.
While each family should create a schedule that meets their individual needs, if possible please take advantage of attending as many of the live Zoom teaching sessions being offered by teachers. Although the sessions are always recorded and posted for later review, attending live gives your scholar the opportunity to ask questions and have interactions with the classroom teacher and other students.
Here is a copy of the Live-Teaching Schedule
Directions for accessing Google Classroom
Assignments and other resources for K-8 students are provided through a student's Google Classroom. To log into Google Classroom, follow these steps -
1. If you are already logged into a Google account (such as a parent's account or another sibling's account), log out of that account first.
2. Go to http://classroom.google.com
3. Sign into Google using your student's username and password (provided by Meridian - please reach out to your child's teacher if you need assistance with this).
4. The Google Classrooms your student is enrolled in will now populate on the screen. Click on the name of the classroom to access that classroom to see the instructional materials and independent work that has been posted by your child's teacher. The easiest way to see the classwork is to click on the link for "Classwork" at the top of the page.
Students should not need to join the classes using the classroom codes if they are signed in to their own Meridian provided account, but each teacher has provided the classroom codes for each grade or section on their page.
Meridian has also posted Additional Resources on this website (at the top menu, click More, then Additional Resources). As Meridian receives additional resources, we will add them to this website for families and students to access at home.
Please bear with us as we work to ensure strong distance learning resources for our students. If you have any feedback on how we can make our offerings better, please let your our principal know!
For 7th and 8th grade students, email Principal Anderson at sanderson@meridian-dc.org.
If you need assistance with your student's username and password, please email helpdesk@meridian-dc.org

Familias de Meridian -
Todos los recursos para estudiantes de K-8 se proporcionan a través de Google Classroom. Para iniciar sesión en Google Classroom, siga estos pasos:
1. Vaya a http://classroom.google.com
