Greetings students,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding distance learning. One of the themes that appeared in most of your essays was about connections with our friends.

The isolation factor is real, and we must think of ways to bridge the gap. I always like to connect with friends over meals. I thought about how students engage with each other in the lunch room and it occurred to me that students could share their favorite food recipes, along with a picture of themselves cooking. I will compile them in a "Cookbook" that can be shared. So, your assignment is to:

1. Send me one of your favorite recipes (your choice)

2. Also send a picture of you preparing the dish.

Week 5 Assignment (Due 4/27) Students will click the following link and read the Newsela article "Rise in Media Literacy". They will then write a short essay that identifies the central/main idea of the article.
