Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to attend every weekly meeting? No, you do not have to attend every meeting but you will be asked to be part of activities. We encourage you to have the time to play sports or join another club.

Do I have to compete? No, you can be part of DECA without competing. You can participate in Community Service activities, run the school store, virtually compete.

Does Platt pay for your membership in DECA. Yes, your membership is paid for by Platt DECA.

Do I have to pay myself for the competitions? Yes and No. We will hold fundraisers to help defray the cost if you choose to participate.

Do I have to be enrolled in or have taken a business classes to join? Yes, you must currently be enrolled or have taken a business class in the past or are planning to take a business class in the future.

Will I be able to earn community service hours? Yes, DECA will provide many activities that will count toward your community service hours.
