Mercer Street Friends’ Send Hunger Packing Program (SHUP) serves around 42 schools in Mercer County, including the Antheil Elementary Community School. Each week, volunteers pack around 2,000 food bags to help close the food gap for school-aged children in order to limit the effects of hunger on their education and development.

Yes! There are no requirements for this program.

Any students or families who wish to receive Food Bags can opt-in at any time- all we need is your student's name and teacher. Please email Miss Madison (mcavallo@mercerstreetfriends.org) to be added to our distribution list.

Every Friday, we deliver almost 200 Food Bags with the help of our fantastic 5th Graders in Helping Hands! Together, these students complete hundreds of volunteer hours each year.

This club is a longstanding tradition at Antheil and we are so happy to get to work with this amazing group each week!
