For my very first blog under the oh-so-fitting name No Fluff, Just Feelings, it feels only right to start with what I know in my bones — and in my heart — Water.
I’m emotional. I feel deeply. I wear my heart on my sleeve — and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. I’ve learned that emotions aren’t something to hide; they’re something to honor. They move through us like tides, and when we let them flow, they can cleanse, soften, and carry us through.
Water has always been my element — physically, spiritually, astrologically (yes, crab me, Cancer sun, ruled by the moon herself). It's more than a metaphor in my life. It’s how I experience the world. And when I welcome you into my massage space, that same emotional current is here — in the warmth, the softness, the safety to just be.
So let’s begin where all life begins:
With water.
Literally, biologically, and energetically.
We are born of it. We are it.
And we need it to keep going — physically, emotionally, spiritually.
Water moves through everything, and in a massage space, it moves with everything.
Let’s start with the facts:
The human body is made of about 60% water. Our brain and heart? Closer to 75%. Even our bones — things we think of as solid — carry water. It’s no wonder we need it to function, heal, and survive.
When you’re dehydrated, your tissues tighten, your joints ache, your mind fogs, and your body can’t do the work of healing well. If you’re getting a massage and your muscles are clinging to tension like dry sponges, it’s harder to work deeply and effectively.
That’s why I always encourage you to hydrate before and after sessions — not because it’s trendy or polite, but because your body is made to move water. Healing flows better with it.
Now, let’s talk about wet vs. dry heat — something I think about a lot in the work I do.
Dry heat (like a heating pad or sauna) can feel intense and relaxing, but it pulls water out of the tissues.
Wet heat (like warm stones, hot towels, steam) penetrates deeper — it brings moisture in, softening tissue, coaxing open tight muscle fibers, and giving the body permission to let go.
I use waterless stones in a way that mimics the experience of wet heat, but when I add hot towels? That’s where we reach another layer of softening — your fascia, your nervous system, your whole being opens.
That’s water doing her thing.
Here’s where I get real with you — we don’t just drink water. We feel it.
Tears are one of the body’s most sacred releases. Whether they show up during a massage session or out of nowhere on a walk through grief, tears are water’s way of saying, “I’m here. Let me help you carry this.”
Grief, joy, tenderness, surrender — they all move through us like tides. And when I say my work holds space for it all, I mean it. This isn’t just about muscles. It’s about allowing the water in you to do what it came here to do: flow.
I’m a Cancer. A water sign.
The crab, ruled by the moon, drawn to safe shores, led by intuition, shaped by emotion, and deeply connected to the tides — both literal and metaphorical.
Water is my nature, and it shows up in everything I do:
-the way I feel you without words
-the way I soften tension with warmth
-the way I hold space for your full humanity
-the way I trust your body’s wisdom to rise like waves
This isn’t just massage. This is remembering you are water — and giving it permission to move.
Water is with us at every stage.
We drink it to survive.
We hold it in our muscles, tissues, and bones.
We use it to soften, soothe, heal and cleanse.
We release it through sweat, through breath — and yes, through tears.
In my massage space, this isn’t just understood — it’s honored.
From hydration to heat to emotional release, water moves through every part of your experience.
You don’t have to explain it.
You don’t have to hold it in.
Let your body flow. Let your healing flow.
Let you flow.
So the next time you book a session with me, remember: this is a space where water is welcome. In your tissues, in your tears, in your story.
Let it flow.🌊
