Arlin Aşcıyan develops meaningful connections with children and adolescents. She earned her degree in Psychological Counseling and Guidance in 2025 and is currently pursuing her senior year in Psychology through a double major program. Her academic interests—also reflected in her undergraduate thesis—focus on parenting styles, psychological control, and problem behaviors, with a particular emphasis on how parental attitudes affect children’s emotional and social development. In her spare time, she enjoys analyzing psychological case studies, as she believes real-life examples provide insights that go beyond theory.
Başak Tuana Kars, who prefers Tuana, graduated from MEF University in June 2025 with a degree in Guidance & Psychological Counseling and is now a 4th year of Psychology student at the same university. She is interested in neurodiversity, focusing on autism, ADHD, and giftedness. She wrote her thesis on the creativity of gifted children. She can multitask like a pro, even if it means occasionally starting projects she forgets to finish.
Denizhan Üstünel, who goes by Deniz, has always been curious about how we think, feel and perceive the world. As a senior Psychology student, he is interested in exploring how children develop moral reasoning and understand gender norms. As a child, he imagined that everything we learn and experience is etched into our brains with an invisible tiny pen, getting clearer and deeper every time we revisit it. Outside of academics, he is a total music nerd—spending hours dissecting albums and exploring brand new sounds.
Eda is a third-year Psychology student at MEF University, pursuing a minor degree in Management. Her research interests lie in Developmental and Clinical Psychology, particularly in moral development and the psychological foundations of ethical reasoning. Aside from academics, she enjoys reading, sports, and spending time in the kitchen.
Ela has always been calm and observant, growing up surrounded by people of all ages in a stationery shop. This early exposure nurtured her maturity and empathy. A lifelong lover of cats, she is also fascinated by human development. Now pursuing a double major in Guidance and Psychological Counseling and Psychology, Ela has evolved from someone who once suppressed her emotions into a person who communicates openly, driven by curiosity about how people grow and connect.
Zehra is deeply interested in understanding and supporting developmental processes. As a third-year psychology student, she adopts a Vygotskian perspective and aims to develop prevention and intervention programs in developmental psychology to create a collective impact on children’s development. She is passionate about observing how children learn and grow, and developing programs that can make a real difference in their lives. Outside of academics, she enjoys practicing and watching sports, exploring new ideas from different disciplines, and engaging in activities that nurture her creativity.
Işıl is a a third-year student majoring in both Guidance and Psychological Counseling and Psychology departmants. As a child, She dreamed of becoming an archaeologist; finding traces of the past and trying to create bridge with the present always seems magical to her. Looking back now, she realize she still pursuing the same thing, only her field and tools that she use has changed. Now, she enjoy discovering the traces, connections, searching and thinking about factors, and developmental processes. She have a particular interest in the impact of culture on the individual, their identity, cognition, and developmental processes.
İrem has always been fascinated by why people care about what’s right and wrong, how those invisible moral norms shape the way we live together. Her curiosity about human behavior slowly grew into a passion for understanding the mind and now she is studying psychology. She hopes to learn how people build their sense of empathy, fairness, and goodness. Whenever she needs a break from thinking, she plays violin, through music she finds peace and a quiet connection to the feelings.
Naz Beril Toprak, prefers Beril, is a senior student of guidance and psychological counseling and also a 3rd year psychology student in the Double Major Program. She is interested in emotional attribution and morally relevant theory of mind. Aside from the academy, she likes dancing and acting. Because sometimes the doors to another world can be opened from another character.
Tuana Savaş is interested in human behavior, ethics, and cognitive processes. In her thesis, she examined academic dishonesty in the age of artificial intelligence (don’t worry, she wrote it herself). She is currently part of the MefGel team and aims to continue her research, preferably without AI taking over her job.
Sude has always been deeply interested in understanding the underlying reasons and processes behind human behavior. Currently a third-year psychology student, she focuses on the experiences of individuals with autism and parenting attitudes, particularly from developmental, social, and neurological perspectives. Outside of academics, she enjoys engaging with animals, traveling, reading, and painting, which she believes contribute to her personal growth and creativity.
Zehra is a 3rd year psychology student, interested in language learning, especially in children and executive function skills. She has a keen interest in developmental psychology, especially in areas where it overlaps with clinical psychology. Outside of academics, she enjoy music and traveling.
Zeynep Berra Çalışkan, prefers Berra, is a second-year psychology student. She has always been fascinated by how humans grow, change, and become who they are. Her curiosity lies in the workings of the brain and how it shapes behavior. She is particularly interested in forensic psychology. Berra hopes to deepen her understanding of the mind’s complexity and contribute to a better comprehension of why people act the way they do.
Zeynep Sude, known as “Zeysu” to her friends, is a third-year psychology student. Thanks to her experience with therapy sessions in middle school, she wanted to pursue psychology, but before that, she wanted to try every possible career. Dancer, fashion designer, singer, actress, sculptor, and more. She still doesn't know if this diversity stems from her desire for experience or her indecisiveness. The only thing she has remained steadfast about is her interest in the science of psychology. This determination is a serious achievement for her, which she is currently proving as part of MefGel Lab.
