2020-2021 Deployment

It is our intent to deliver chromebook devices to all 8th grade to PK students who may not have received a device in the spring. Building on the success of our 1:1 Chromebook Initiative to include all grade levels. If your child is in need of a device for the first day of school, 9/16, please complete the 20-21 Device Request Form. A device will be prepared for pickup at the Middle School, Door 8 IT Office, September 14th and 15th between 8:30 and 4:30, while supplies last. We will email a confirmation of availability by September 4th.

*Deploying devices to all 8th through pk students will be challenging. Eighth and Seventh grade students will be required to return devices and chargers disbursed in the spring, in exchange for a new device, on the first day in-school . These new devices will be utilized by the students for the next three to five years and we strongly encourage families to purchase insurance to cover any repair costs. Students in grades PK through 6, who have not already received a device in the spring, will have a device provided to them on or around the first in-school attendance day. Our intent is to provide every student a device, as quickly as possible. Some students may not receive devices until additional inventory arrives.

All Families are encouraged to purchase insurance to cover any repair costs that may be incurred on the school owned device. Please note that care of the device is the responsibility of the family up to the full replacement value of $310.00. MPS has secured insurance through Worth Ave for $22 per year for all devices and offers multi year plans based on grade level. Accidental and malicious damage is covered under this policy. Lost or stolen devices are not covered. Visit the payment portal for more information. Please note that anyone receiving free or reduced lunch will receive one year of insurance free with the device deployment.
