About the Course
Abnormal Psychology is a one-semester course that will introduce students to the study of abnormal behavior and mental disorders.
After completion of the course, students will be able to:
explain multiple definitions of the terms 'normal' and 'abnormal'.
describe the diagnostic criteria, symptoms, course, incidence, prevalence, etiology, prognosis, and correlations of major medical disorders.
understand the various contributors and influences of psychopathology.
apply diagnostic criteria and case formulations to the assessment and diagnosis of major mental disorders.
describe the historical and contemporary perspectives to the treatment of mental disorders.
