In third grade, homework is not required but strongly encouraged to support learning at home. Students will receive homework packets that include both Math and Spelling practice. While completion is optional, regular practice helps reinforce the skills we are working on in class.
We also encourage students to read at home each day —either independently or out loud with a family member or guardian. This consistent reading practice helps strengthen fluency and supports the important transition from learning to read to reading to learn.
Students can also continue practice with their math skills through our online Prodigy Program. This can be accessed at home on any device using students clever logins. Students will also receive a at home login card for Prodigy on the first day of school with their Username and Password.
Newsletters:
Bi-weekly newsletters will be sent home throughout the school year to keep families informed. These updates will include our current learning focus, upcoming events, important dates, and any reminders or announcements. Newsletters will be sent home as flyers in student take-home folders.
Math Homework Tips & Tricks:
With each new math unit homework packet, you’ll receive a flyer with the unit’s focus, problem-solving steps, key vocabulary, and simple tips for supporting math practice at home.
