Welcome to Mrs. Flood's Classroom!
"Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a flame."
-William Butler Yeats
To create a safe, comfortable environment where students are engaged, inspired, and motivated to reach their highest potential.
This will be my sixth year teaching fifth grade at Memorial. A certified elementary education teacher, I hold a Bachelor's of Arts and Science from Boston College and a Masters of Education from Endicott College. I am super organized and look forward to working with my fifth graders on time management and organization skills that will last a lifetime.
Prior to teaching, I worked in advertising for a large Boston firm and as an event planner for Marriott Hotels. I have four children ages 20, 17, 15 and 12.
These are a few of my favorite things...reading realistic fiction novels, country music, playing Scrabble, sea-glass hunting, lilac bushes, and anything to do with Hawaii! I am not a very good baker, but I love to cook - especially Italian food!
I am thrilled to be teaching 5th grade this year and I look forward to learning all about your favorite things!
