What is 6th grade Digital Literacy?

6th grade students need some basic skills to succeed in this new digital world.

Digital Lit Intro 2022

This class will be a combination of learning vital Google Suite skills and exploring some basics of digital electronics. If we are virtual we will be using TinkerCAD Circuits to help with building and programming our circuits. If we are in person, we will be using Arduino kits.

MicroBits

Part of what we will be learning involves the Project Lead the Way curriculum for Innovators and Makers. Students get some basic computer science skills, and learn how programming can affect the physical world.

Google Suite Skills

Opening, creating, and using Google Docs, Presentations, and Google Drawings
Attaching links, videos, screenshots, and images into cloud based documents.

Computer Science

Writing basic coding algorithms and flowcharts
Troubleshooting and planning out projects
Testing, fixing and reevaluating code
