Running successful events takes a team effort, and we’re grateful to rely on the support of our school community.
We'll help you find the perfect volunteer opportunity, whether it's assisting in the classroom, supporting holiday events, leading activities during special campus days, or offering your time and support behind the scenes with organizing and receiving donations. Or perhaps there's another way you'd like to contribute, let us know! We're excited to have your support and look forward to partnering with you.

All room parents, classroom volunteers & field trip chaperones are required to complete the MDUSD fingerprinting and tuberculosis (TB) clearance process prior to volunteering/chaperoning. After school events do not require clearance from the MDUSD.

Volunteer Request Form
Tuberculosis Risk Assessment Form (must be completed every four (4) years)
LiveScan Application Request* (Once fingerprints are cleared, the clearance does not expire (valid throughout MDUSD)
Once all forms have been completed. Submit them immediately to the MDUSD in person, by fax or by email. The Department of Justice may take up to 30 days to clear your LiveScan.
Please ensure clearance with the Sun Terrace office prior to volunteering.
All volunteers are required to sign-in at the main office to receive a guest pass and sign-out upon completion of their volunteer duties.
*Ask the PTA how to get reimbursed for your fingerprinting costs!
Must be an active PTA member with dues paid for the current school year.
Reimbursement is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We have a limited number of vouchers available.

Room parent
Room Parents provide an invaluable service to our school. In addition to helping coordinate class parties and special events, they serve as the main line of communication between the PTA, the classroom teacher, and fellow parents.
By keeping families informed and involved, Room Parents play a key role in building a strong and connected classroom community.
Duties include:
Organizing class parties, usually around a specific theme or holiday
Collecting contributions from parents and organizing teacher gifts for holidays and birthdays
Recruiting and coordinating volunteers for classroom activities, school events, and field trips
Sending out reminders and managing sign-up sheets for events, activities, and trips
Maintaining an up-to-date contact list for all parents in the class
