The You Matter video is a great story that is read and illustrated by the Author. The story provides inspiration for a collage that we are doing in art class on January 11th.

For the week of May 4th - 8th:

Please listen to the video of What a Wonderful world by Ashley Bryan, and put to music by Louis Armstrong. (Thank you Mrs. Putnam for putting this together! )

Then make art!

  1. Draw a border with patterns.

  2. What do you think is wonderful in our world?

  3. Draw your wonderful images in the middle of the paper.

  4. Paint with watercolor and use oil pastels. Or, use your favorite materials to color.

  5. Please share your work with me.

Epic Friend Movie.mp4

Create your Epic Virtual Friend! It doesn't need to look real. This friend could be totally imaginary, have an animal head, or be from another planet. Use your imagination! Make the body a strange shape, and the head too. Save this friend, we can use it later! Your friend can take some trips to space, different countries, and other places. Share your art with me by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.

Plein Air Painting .mov

Have someone help you take photos of nature or objects that create letters. Share your photos with me by clicking the link below. Have fun!

On the next nice day, find a great spot outside to paint with watercolor. Take some paper, a pencil, a jar of water, a brush, and some paints. A sketch book or cardboard to paint on is great too.

Draw a quick sketch, and paint your landscape from general to specific. Painting outside is called Plein Air Painting, and is what Claude Monet did every day. Ask Madame Linscott about Claude Monet!

SHARE PHOTOS OF THE ART YOU MAKE!

Take a picture of your work, or get someone to help you do this. Then share it with me here.
