Reverse Video Challenge

Hey middle school artists! This link is one made by my friend Dan Stillman, one of the art teachers at MDI high School. He has given a good presentation, and a challenge to all! At least watch this. It’s pretty cool. Some of you techies could get into this! Try it! Send it to me. Send it to him. Send it to your grandma. Enjoy!!!

Create an origami worm. You need lightweight paper, scissors, and a straw. (you can make a paper straw.)

Try making some paper beads. You can use magazine photos, newspaper, colored paper, or any paper. You need glue, something to wrap beads around, ( a pen would work) and string.

Draw a parrot using the video below, or the Eiffel Tower, below that.

Create your Epic Virtual Friend! If you are in grades 5-8, do you remember the Keith Haring murals we made in the beginning of this year? I guess this is similar, except there are features and details on this friend. Save this, we can use it later! Share your art with me by clicking the link at the bottom of this page!

This site offers lots of drawing tutorials- Have fun!

Plein Air Painting .mov

On the next nice day, find a great spot outside to paint with watercolor. Take some paper, a pencil, a jar of water, a brush, and some paints. A sketch book or cardboard to paint on is great too.

Draw a quick sketch, and paint your landscape from general to specific. Painting outside is called Plein Air Painting, and is what Claude Monet did every day.

Find a famous painting you like, and recreate it at home. Have someone take a photo. Share the painting and your photo with me, below.

SHARE PHOTOS OF THE ART YOU MAKE!

Take a picture of you work, and share it with me here.
