Work Plan
Summer 2025:
Over the course of three meetings this summer, participants developed a shared Green Schools resolution titled AOS 91 Won’t Wait: District Climate Policy Resolution. Participants researched the work that has already been done in local schools to this end, and began to identify and prioritize future projects to support sustainability across the district using a matrix technique.
Fall 2025
The Resolution was presented to and unanimously adopted by the AOS 91 School Board at their meeting on September 8th.
School Year ‘25-’26:
Over the course of our meetings this school year, participants are working on initial implementation of the Climate Policy Resolution. We drafted a Sustainability Action Plan in alignment with the resolution goals that will provide a roadmap to the district for the next 5-15 years. In addition to this large vision-level work, we are pursuing district-wide action on 4 priority projects; 1. Waste diversion & composting, 2. Building energy audit planning, 3. Conversion to renewable electricity & fuel contracts, and 4. Development & support of student Green Teams.
