Hello Everyone!

We want to provide you with an update about the legislation addressing language acquisition for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children in Maryland.

Since April, we have continued working on the legislation and reviewing feedback from the previous legislative session. As you may remember, the bill we introduced last year did not pass.

We did not stop there.

Since the last legislative session, we have been working to revise the bill and strengthen the legislation. We have carefully reviewed the issues raised during the previous session and have made changes to the draft.

We are now at an important point in the process.

We want to hear from you — our community and stakeholders.

We are asking Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, parents, families, educators, professionals, organizations, and other members of the community to review the revised draft legislation and share your feedback with us.

Your input is important.

If you have comments, questions, concerns, or suggestions for changes, we want to hear from you.

You do not need to be an expert in legislation to provide feedback. If you have questions about what the proposed legislation means or how it may affect Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and families, please reach out to us.
