History

2015       MDAD members raised concerns about the impact of  language deprivation toward Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, and Hard of Hearing children in education

2017         MDAD along with key stakeholders formed a taskforce to  work on a bill 

2019 The LEAD K Bill was first introduced; sponsored by Senator Lam

2022 Committee re-established to revise the bill

2026 Introduced by Senator King & Delegate Bagnall (SB 502 and HB 879)
