School Counselor for 7th Grade
Hello! I am very excited to be a part of the wonderful community that is Morton Junior High School. After graduating from Truman State University in 2019, I attended Bradley University to attain my master's in Professional School Counseling. I completed my internship here at MJHS, as well as Morton High School, and I am so grateful that I was offered a permanent job at the junior high. I graduated from Bradley in 2022 and I could not be happier to start my professional career as a junior potter! My goal is to provide students with the resources they need to thrive and help them prepare for high school and beyond. I also hope that each student knows that they have several supports here at the junior high and that help is always available to them if they would ever need it. Go Potters!
School Counselor for 8th Grade
I am excited to make the transition from the classroom to the counseling department. I graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2005 and began my teaching career in Dwight, IL teaching both first and seventh grades. I was a seventh grade social studies teacher here in Morton for 16 years, serving also as the green team leader and the social studies department coach for several of those years. During my time in Morton I have earned a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Illinois State University and a Master’s in School Counseling from Arkansas State University. I am looking forward to continuing to serve the students at MJHS in this new role. My goal is to partner with teachers and staff to help equip students with the tools and resources they need to achieve their goals and seize the opportunities life presents them. We have many resources and supports available to students, and I am happy to help make those connections so please reach out anytime.
