Service Learning Projects

Students participate in a number of service learning projects that help preserve the geology and beauty of this premier national park.

Yosemite Facelift: Each year in September the students of Y.V.S. don their safety gear and venture into the park to assist in the park wide clean up effort.

Native Plant Garden: With the help of the National Park Service Botany Team, YVS students are cultivating and tending to a native plant garden.

Merced River Water Testing: The Merced River meaders through Yosemite Valley carving a path through the geologic features which provides a rich opportunity to study the rocks. Students in the upper grades complete a variety of tests to check the health of the water.
