EPSTEIN’S BEST BUDDY

Throughout Donald Trump's second run as president, many major controversies and changes have occurred. There has been at least one controversy per month throughout the past 10 months. Let's take a look at them.

January:

Trump takes office again, making many false promises, and getting called out for threatening democratic institutions. This had many people worried about what was to come.

February-March:

February and March were the months in which people's fears for the future were proven correct. Immigration limits were reinstated, as were rollbacks of environmental protections, and civil-service officials were fired. This caused many lawsuits and protests.

April:

Reports about plans to target liberal organizations, using the IRS or DOJ as a guide. This was also the month in which Trump implemented a universal tariff and “reciprocal tariffs” on all countries not subject to other sanctions. On April 5th, there was a minimum 10% tariff on almost all U.S. imports.

May-June:

May and June saw the resurgence of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, also known as ICE. Trump said that these federal troops were needed to clear out “crime-ridden” cities like Chicago. There was a very heavy backlash to this decision, which inevitably led to more protests.

July-September:

During this period, Trump continued to appeal his convictions and crimes committed before his presidency, doing everything in his power to prove them to be fake.

He used his public speeches to denounce judges, further ruining the trust between his administration and the judiciary.

October (Present day)

Trump's administration is planning and researching liberal and progressive nonprofits, intensifying fear of authoritarianism. In fact, an official of the Trump Administration messed up his words and stated on live television that Donald Trump plans to have plenary power. Trump has also said on live television during an event at the White House, “We took the freedom of speech away, relating to flag burnings.

Many people have criticized and made jokes about Trump and his frequent childish behavior, such as his complaining when he didn’t get nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. This is one of the many instances of people making a mockery of this U.S.  president. In fact, any major change or new law made by Trump is considered by many users online as a way to distract the general public from the Epstein files, which many have demanded be released to the public eye.

Speaking of, the Epstein files are most definitely the largest of Trump’s controversies. Throughout the years, more information about the files and Jeffrey Epstein himself has been released. For example, a disturbing conversation between the two on Epstein's birthday was recently leaked, based on a birthday note Trump sent to Epstein.

For one to attract so many controversies in less than a year into their presidency is certainly concerning. I, alongside many others, wouldn’t be wrong to think it can only get worse from here. But we will just have to wait and see.
