Every effort has been made to enroll students into courses they have requested for the upcoming school year. Our number one scheduling priority is to make sure our students are enrolled in the core classes that are needed for graduation. Core classes are considered to be English, math, science, social studies, and world languages.
At this time, only Level 1 schedule changes will be allowed for students in grades 9 - 12.
Requests for LEVEL I schedule changes should be done by email, cfreeman@mcs.k12.mi.us beginning August 18th and should include student name, class to be dropped and/or class to be added
ONLY for:
Students who do not have 6 hours in their schedule for both semesters
Seniors who are not scheduled into a course required for graduation
Students who failed a class and need it added to their schedule
Students who have a class on their schedule that they completed in the Summer School Credit Recovery Program
Students who are scheduled into a class out of order (ex: Spanish II before taking Spanish I)
Students who have the same class listed twice on their schedule (please note: the following classes are YEAR LONG and must be both 1st and 2nd semesters: Algebra I, Algebra II, AP English, AP US History, Honors Bio II, Honors Chemistry). PE Lifetime, Strength Training, Jazz Band, Concert Band, and Choir are available to take both semesters, but may be taken only one semester.
Students who have already taken a class they have been scheduled into (Music and Physical Education courses are an exception and students MAY be scheduled into it over multiple years)
Students who are missing a core class (English, math, science, social studies, world language)
