After School Program Bus Rules
Transportation from B.E.A.T. will be provided. The routes will be customized according to needs of enrollment. It will be similar to summer school routes, with designated drop off points. Parents may be asked to show photo I.D. to get children from bus stop. Students in grades 1-4 will be escorted to the buses at dismissal. Emergency bus passes will only be allowed in extreme situations. It is imperative for students to be picked up on time/met at the bus stop on time. Failure to do this 3 times could lead to dismissal from the program. Bus drivers have the option of assigning seats as needed. If your child regularly rides the B.E.A.T. bus, but a situation arises in which you need to pick them up instead, you must notify the B.E.A.T. office not later than 5:00 p.m.
Bus Expectations:
• Obey the driver promptly
• Stay seated until the bus comes to a complete stop
• Keep hands, feet, and items to self at all times
• Never throw objects on or off the bus
• Demonstrate positive behavior and appropriate language
• Do not eat food, candy, gum, or drink beverages on the bus
• Do not bring large equipment, animals, skateboards, or other harmful objects on the bus
• Follow the rules when entering and exiting the bus
Parents, we ask that you:
• Arrive at the stop 10 minutes early for the first few weeks, until the route is established.
• Never get on the bus. If a parent is in need of assistance, they or the driver can notify the B.E.A.T. office.
Pick-up Information: Students who stay for dinner that will be transported home by a parent/guardian or other authorized individual are expected to be picked up by 5:35 p.m. from the East Entrance. Parents will remain in the foyer until B.E.A.T. personnel opens the doors. This procedure is for student safety.
These routes are still in the planning stage and are subject to change. Finalized versions, including stops, will be available after students are registered for the program. Remember, buses will be dropping off students at DESIGNATED POINTS ONLY! Parents are responsible for picking their students up from the drop off point. If the parents are not at the designated drop off point the bus will proceed to the next drop point. There will be no bus service inside city limits. Students needing to cross the highway will be walked down and helped across.
