What is Dual Enrollment?

A partnership between MCPS and Montgomery College that allows college ready students to take MC courses to fulfill graduation requirements.

Program Eligibility

Minimum unweighted cumulative GPA for 10th - 11th graders: 2.75
Minimum unweighted cumulative GPA for 12th graders: 2.50
Meet College and Career Ready (CCR) MD standards to receive funding for up to two courses from a select list. (See below)

Meet assessment levels:
- - SAT/ACT scores
  - MC English Placement Test
  - ALEKS (Math) Placement Test
  - Alternative Placement Program

***You must earn a C or better in your college courses. If you earn a D, F or W, you must complete an Academic Review Form to determine future eligibility. Please contact DEPA for more information.

NEW CCR Standards

Effective July 1, 2026, you must meet the state's CCR standards to receive funding for up to two MC courses from a select list. If you do not, but still meet the programs requirements, you may participate at your own expense (you will be responsible for tuition, fees and course materials.)

Complete the Montgomery College online application

- - Ensure that your first and last name, DOB, and MCPS ID match exactly as shown in Synergy
  - Enter graduation year
  - use your personal email
Check your email for the “Welcome to MC” email with your student ID.
