The Wootton School Counseling department strives to implement a comprehensive school counseling program based on Montgomery County Public School Standards and Expectations and in alignment with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model.   

• The American School Counselor Association is the professional association for school counselors.

• The American School Counselor Association is the creator of ASCA National Model.

• Guides the organization & implementation of a comprehensive school counseling programs.

• ASCA incorporates the four themes of leadership, advocacy, collaboration and systemic change as part of the framework of the ASCA National Model.The framework of the ASCA National Model consists of four components: define, manage, deliver and assess.
