Cap should be worn parallel to the floor.
Appropriate footwear
Do not use wrinkle spray or an iron on the gown. It is best to use a steamer or put the gown on a hanger in a steamy bathroom to get any wrinkles out.
Graduates are not to use cell phones during the ceremony (must be in a pocket/bag underneath the gown)
Cap decorations must meet guidelines listed on the rehearsal page.
Only school-issued cords and stoles from honor societies can be worn. No outside regalia can be worn during the ceremony and instead should be saved for photos after.
Guests are encouraged to dress in business casual attire, however, there is no dress code.
Bags are permitted and should be a reasonable size. No large backpacks or large tote bags. Bags are subject to search upon entry.
Balloons and fresh flowers are not allowed inside DAR Constitution Hall.
Enter on C Street or D Street
Arrive between 8:45 - 9:20 a.m.
Graduates must be in their place in line no later than 9:30 a.m.
Graduates do not need a ticket for entry.
Enter on 18th Street (Main Entrance)
Doors are open to guests at 9:00 a.m.
Doors are temporarily locked at 9:45 a.m. and do not reopen until approx. 10:10 a.m. NO EXCEPTIONS!
All guests need a ticket, including young children.
All tickets are general admission.
Seating in the handicapped section must be requested in advance. A reserved seating label is placed on the back of the ticket to expedite the seating process in the handicapped section. Those who have difficulty climbing stairs may enter using a ramp on D Street.
