Chorus

Fourth and Fifth Grade Chorus

Chorus is part of the regular school day at Woodlin Elementary School.  Every fourth and fifth grade student is automatically enrolled in the program as their fifth special every week.  Students work together to learn unison, two-part, and three-part music that is linguistically, culturally, and musically diverse and inclusive.

Each year the fourth grade chorus and fifth grade chorus prepare for their culminating effort, the Spring Concert.  It usually occurs in May of the school year.  This concert includes opportunities for both grade levels to join together to form a combined chorus.  It's beautiful.

Additionally, students in fifth grade are given the opportunity to audition for fifth grade honors chorus.  Every student that shows interest does a scored audition with Mr. Barker, and those that score in the top are selected to participate.  We only are allowed a certain number of slots, so selection is an honor.
