Small learning community entirely on campus
-All required Ulysses classes are at Northwest
-Students will be with their cohort throughout high school
-Students have the option to take courses at Montgomery College their senior year in addition to those offered at Northwest
Research and inquiry instruction - the focus of Ulysses is on skills, knowledge, and experience in research
-At the end of the program students complete a year-long research project culminating in an oral defense and academic poster session
Choice - Students develop their own "pathway" through High School by selecting AP Elective courses that match their intresets. In pursuing the AP Capstone diploma, student need to earn a score of 3+ on four AP Exams throughout High School. Ulysses students are free to select courses in any discipline, including Art, Science, Technology, Social Studies, and others. Students can explore multiple areas of interest or focus on one field, with over 30 different AP courses present at Northwest.
