French Classes visited the College of Humanities and the World Language Department of UMD at College Park, MD on Wednesday, December 8th, 2025. Students learned about the importance of studying languages, particularly French, in high school and the various university studies and careers for which being able to speak fluent French is an asset.
The ASL 2 and 3 classes visit the ONLY deaf university in the United States every two years. Students get to experience firsthand Deaf Culture as they explore the campus. They met an SVHS alumnae at the university.
On April 29th, 2026, the Hispanic Latino Student Union and the Spanish Honor Societies visited the National Museum of American History in DC to explore the exhibition of the History of Hispanic Americans.
