High School Choice Overview

All 8th-grade students living in the DCC area or attending a feeder middle school participate in the annual high school Choice process. Families can attend information sessions to learn about the process and school options.

The Choice process is a lottery that considers ranked choices, base school, sibling link, school capacity, and socioeconomic status. Students are guaranteed their base school if ranked first, or second if the first choice is unavailable. For other requests, assignments are based on these factors, and first-choice placement is not guaranteed.

*Older siblings must be enrolled at the requested school the following year.
