Silver Spring International Middle School works collaboratively with community partners to provide additional resources and specialized support for the families in our school community. Working closely with our school students' diverse have access to the services and support they need to succeed.
Linkages to Learning is a school-based collaboration among the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, the Montgomery County Public Schools and non-profit, community based service providers. The program provides accessible services to at-risk children and their families to improve adjustment to and performance in school, home, and community. Prevention and early intervention services include health, mental health, social services and educational support.
Services:ย
Supporting students' adjustment to school
Counseling individuals, families and groups
Providing preventive health care and health education
Providing workshops and classes on issues of parenting, nutrition, ad acculturation
Assisting with food, utility and housing problems
Providing translation services for non-English speaking families
Assisting parents in completing financial and medical assistance forms
Planning community outreach and prevention programs
Empowering parents to access the "service system" on their own

Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County (CRCMC)
Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County (CRCMC)
CRCMC provides mediations through a free, confidential, non-judgmental, and voluntary process in which two neutral mediators assist participants, typically two or more persons in a dispute situation, to develop solutions to their conflict.ย ย
The participants speak for themselves and make their own decisions.ย The mediators facilitate the exchange, neither taking sides nor suggesting or evaluating solutions.
Resolution coaches also works one on one with a participant to address a specific situation or to build your conflict management skills.
This is offered to all school communities including students, families, staffs, and others.ย

Tree of Hope
Tree of Hope
Tree of hope is a peer organization that helps the recovery community self-direct to a new way of life. They provide one-on-one peer services, certified by the state of Maryland, to provided Peer trainings and supervision. They are in the trenches with the recovery community ensuring that everyone can find their pathway and needed resources.ย
The vision for MoCo CAP (Montgomery County Career Advising Program) is for all MCPS secondary students to develop life-long career management skills through the participation in experiences, interactions, and programming via Montgomery County Career Advising Program (MoCoCAP).ย
All students will be able to:
vividly describe their own strengths, interests, and workplace values;ย
identify how they are expanding their skills and knowledge;ย
describe the various opportunities ahead of them;ย
describe their goals for their future, including post-CCR pathway;ย
create a plan of next-steps; andย
begin implementing that plan through action at appropriate junctures.
