Yes, but please check the calendar please. There may already be a class scheduled in the library space. To check our calendar, please see here. We have a schedule for both the main library space and the "quiet study room".
- How do I schedule the library space during the day?
There may already be a class scheduled in the library space. To check our calendar, please see here. Follow the instructions to schedule class period(s) in the library or the study room You can also email Mrs. Flaherty directly and ask to be scheduled.
- What resources can students use?
Students (and staff) can access our resources a variety of ways. Our "password list" contains the resources organized by vendors and by general suggested subject areas and contain direct links along with the username and password for access. You can STAR/Bookmark this file as Mrs. F updates the document each August. Our resources do NOT use our id's -- No one knows who is using what resource. We only have access "counts". No identifying data.

- Can I print in color?
Yes, but not from your own device (generally.) Mr. Foster has installed the color printer in the library to the desktop computers located in the library media center. You can also send myself and Mrs. Boshart the file and request that we print it for you.
- Can you help me with resources for my class project?
YES! I love doing this for you! I am happy to take a look at your assignment and develop a resource list specific to your class project/paper. Would you like to see an example? Please ask.
- Do you have this book/movie?
To find out if a book or a movie is available here at Sherwood HS, you can check Destiny, our fully digital online catalog. It can be found here. You can always ask Mrs. Flaherty or Mrs. Boshart as well.
- Is this book/movie approved?
If a book is available in the online catalog it is definitely approved. If you do not see it (as not everything approved, do we have here...) you can check the Database of Evaluations (DAE). You do not need to log in. You need to simply use the keyword search on the left side of the screen.
- Can you buy this book/movie?
Yes, maybe! If the book has not been approved for use in MCPS, it may take a little while to evaluate the material. If it already approved, I am happy to purchase it. Please note, I can only purchase 'library use materials' with my budget, not instructional materials.
